Slow Food Nation
Slow Food Nation squeezed into national newscasts Labor Day weekend between the approach of Hurricane Gustav and the opening of the Republican National Convention. The non-profit group claims that 60,000 people showed up in San Francisco for its inaugural national event and “celebrated the birth of a broad and inclusive food movement to build an American food system that is sustainable, just, and delicious.”
The organization started in 1989 in Italy and now claims members in 131 countries. It doesn’t take much reading to seeĀ many common issues and interests.
Here are stories on the group’s first U.S. gathering by the Associated Press andĀ The Wall Street Journal.
